Flight of a Fumbling Bee is a personal project that captures the energetic spiral I was experiencing at the time of its creation. Made in the summer after my second year of university, it reflects a moment where I was outwardly stepping into adulthood while internally feeling unsteady, even impostor-like.
For me, coming into adulthood has felt like a dance with two left feet. On one hand, I was buzzing with new-found liberation and self-sustainability; on the other, trying not to lose a sense of childhood sentimentality, curiosity, and lightness. Flight of a Fumbling Bee depicts this awkward in-between. It explores the tension between external expectations, the path I feel compelled to follow and the uncertain, fumbling navigation of becoming.
